Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. “Oh, no,” I said. “Disneyland burned down.” He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.

It concerns me that you would try this HYSTERICALLY funny traumatic moment on your own nephew...RESIST THE URGE TO DO SO!!!

I used to LOVE "Deep Thoughts" on SNL. I wish they still had that. Reminds me of the good old days, and one of my favorite old commercials they did - The Happy Fun Ball. "Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball". Ah, memories!
I think there may be a deep thoughts book, actually, by Jack Handey of course...
