I found my desk - it's gray.

Many of you will be pleased to know I cleaned up my desk. That's right - cleaned. I've recovered some important items that have been lost for years. Apparently, I've been getting some magazines I didn't know about that were burried under piles of stuff. Also, thanks so much to all of you who sent Christmas cards in 2003 - they were lovely. Unfortunately, one item which I always thought was a stuffed-plush toy left by a caring coworker turned out to just be a clod of dust that had collected in the corner.I've also returned all employee dishes to the kitchen, found some coffee mugs, and a Starbucks gift certificate. As you look at the pictures, notice a few things: there's a large silver calculator on the desk in the first picture just above the top of the chair. Yes, it's a calculator and it's almost as big as my computer. Thanks to my coworkers who think I'm suffering from farsightedness. Also, note there's a dart board for when I'm on the phone with boring customers (not you Ruth, of course), and Mr. Potatoe Head is always watching me work (probably bugged with hidden cameras so management can watch me). I'm a "pile" type guy - everything looks disorganized to you, but I know what's in each pile (with the exception of that gift certificate and a few other crucial, highly-sensitive papers). Finally, here's the new office....
...we'll see how long it lasts.

HAHA...my prediction: the clean desk SO isn't going to last. Actually these pictures were very interesting...for some reason unknown I have been suffering from the delusion that you had an actual office...you know with door and stuff. I had no idea you were in cubeland too (can people knock over your cube walls? Nathan keeps trying to do that to mine...can we say SHODDY WORKMANSHIP??...but anyway...).

Oh yes, THANK YOU for clarifying the phone thing (yeesh!)...it's a relief to know I'm not a boring conversationalist. Thank you.

Maybe you just happened to realize you have drawers in that desk and shoved everything in there.
Hey - was your Starbucks certificate still valid? That's a very important feature to finding stuff equivalant to money!

Actually, believe it or not, I cleaned my drawers out too! It's really organized - REALLY!
And, yes, the Starbuck was still valid. Cash is good - coffee is better.

It's been 3 business days now - is it still organized? :-)

Glad to hear your coffee cert was still good!

So if Ruth isn't the boring customer, does that mean I am? Another thing I have learned...For almost 5 years now, I have thought you knew my phone number by heart. But these pics show the truth...all posted right there on your wall. I am no longer impressed.

Rachel you have a very sharp eye...

okay, okay ....let's settle this nasty rumor. although I do have cards posted on my wall (inlcuding Rachel's) I have a weird memory for numbers. I have full 10-digit ISBN's memorized of most our products - AND, Rachel, I know your number by heart as well as Ruths, Jennifers, etc. Trust me. Call me anytime of my cell phone and I'll rattle your number off without hesitation:)

Toby! And all this time I had you pegged for a neat-desk guy. I'm so proud.
